My name is James Mackie (Director / Producer) of Karma. I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. I am a free-lance music arranger, published composer, and author. I started Abade Film Productions with three others earlier this year (2011). We are making our first animated full feature movie called ‘Karma’ a psychological murder drama. I am also an Associate Producer on the full feature British movie: ‘Death’ in post production. It comes out 2012. I worked outside Scotland for many years. I studied and passed a post-graduate diploma in Librarianship and Publishing Studies at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland.
I have written two published fiction novels: 'Operation Jackdaw' and 'To Snare a Fox', and a football book, Fergie’s Protégés, which can be found on www.Amazon.com. I started writing screenplays late on in my life and have written six so far. I intend to add to this number. My screenplays are 'Indian Peter', 'Fraudsters', 'Operation Valkyrie', 'The Luggage List', 'Anger Crunch' an adaptation of ‘A Tail of Two Cities’ by Charles Dickens, and my latest: a psychological crime horror called ‘Karma’. If you have signed up to InkTip, you can find my scripts on that site.
When I had finished writing 'Operation Valkyrie', I discovered that Tom Cruise had started filming the same story in Berlin. I was therefore too late. It was bad luck, but it shows that I have commercial film acumen. I am interested in different genres from fiction to factual dramas. I am currently researching four story ideas for screenplays. I enjoy writing screenplays and hope to continue with writing more. I intend to adapt my published novel: ‘To Snare A Fox’ into a short television three or four part thriller screenplay.
