We both work at London based production company Content is King as Producer/Directors, working on a range of projects, from TV commercials to online marketing campaigns. We both studied at Bournemouth University and collaborated on a number of projects both in and out of the course; including a documentary for a Moroccan charity shot in the Anti-Atlas mountains. For the last few months we’ve been focused on developing ‘In the Shadow of Eli’, but we’re always debating new ideas.
Our biggest influences come from a broad range of film. There are the obvious old-school ones, Alfred Hitchcock and John Huston. The arty ones like Lars von Trier and Jean-Luc Godard. And all the best from recent films, such as Steve McQueen’s ‘Shame’ and Jeff Nichols’ ‘Take Shelter’. For visual storytelling though there’s surely no one better at the moment than Sylvain Chomet, whose 2010 film ‘The Illusionist” just shows how much you can say without actually saying it.
