I'm the lead parent volunteer co-ordinator for the club; my role being to co-ordinate the roles and responsibilities of the other volunteers within the gymnastics club, which involves me supporting and mentoring all the volunteers in their respective roles.
In the capacity of a volunteer, I've just taken on the additional responsibility in assisting with fundraising for the new facility. A facility that the club so desperately needs in light of the local sports centre closure towards the end of 2012.
I've been attached to this club for a number of years now as a parent of 3 children that thoroughly enjoy their gymnastics with the Gyrus. It is because of this the dedication and the passion and enthusiasm that the coaches show to the children that I will support them however I can. Gyrus has given so much support to the local community, offering children, young adults and others with special needs the opportunity to participate in sport, that I am proud to support this campaign.
The club has operated in the district now for more than 40 years, and it would be a sad loss to the community if we cannot achieve our target to realise the future aspiration of the club to continue to offer so much opportunity to so many young people in our community.
I do hope that you be able to help the club with your support, no matter how small or large that may be. If you think that you can offer any services to help us improve the club, all offers of help will of course be considered. We have to mindful of course that the club is predominently a childrens and young person club, so offers of support with services will need to take this into account and obviously will need to be appropriate.
For example one of the things that we're looking to develop to assist our coaches, is a mobile application that can help us record and monitor the progress of the children with their gymnastic awards. So if anyone that likes developing apps would like to talk to us about this please get in touch.
