You Will Be Rare is where a long-forgotten character from the 80s cartoon He-Man, takes its rightful place in the commodity market, helping one man to “have the power.”
I am collecting as many action figures of the overlooked character Ram-Man from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, as I can to try and affect the economy. Over the past two years I have hoarded well over 100 figures, specifically those made in Taiwan in 1982. This has created a demand for Ram-Mans on the market and meant increasingly fewer are entering it (because they're mostly in my house).
This year I have embarked on a new mission to tell as many people as I can and get them to agree with me on the value of Ram-Man. I will premiere You Will Be Rare at Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.
The show is a humorous account of my journey as one man in the global commodities market. Setting out with the most rudimentary knowledge of economics but absolute confidence in my convictions, mine is an amusing and ultimately inspiring tale of taking matters into your own hands. I use cheeky Essex patter, a geeky knowledge of this market, and the backdrop of superb illustrations by the Hidden Dingbat Collective to win the audience over and make them feel all nostalgic inside.

Funding
I am taking the show to Edinburgh with the generous support of Escalator East to Edinburgh and Arts Council England who provide professional support & advice and funds respectively. Your contribution will support me in covering some of the remaining short-fall and provide my own contribution including for accommodation costs and marketing materials. Most importantly it will ensure that I can take my small team with me to make certain the show is the absolute best it can be. Of course any funds left over, or any additional funds raised go towards securing Ram-Mans.
To seal the deal I've provided some juicy rewards, AND to prove my commitment to the project (and the environment) I will be cycling from Colchester to Edinburgh in the week before my run.
