For the last 4 years the Museum of East Asian Art (MEAA) has hosted a Lunar New Year celebration at the Museum and the Assembly Rooms, Bath – open for free to residents and visitors to Bath alike.
The Lunar New Year Extravaganza! also serves to further develop the Museum’s relationships with the local community, schools and universities.
As an educational charity, the MEAA is committed to encouraging education, creativity, dialogue and research in relation to East and Southeast Asian cultures. As part of this, the Lunar New Year Extravaganza! offers a great opportunity for the Museum to bring together the various communities of Bath and also work with local educators.
The Museum's education partnerships include working with local schools on the second annual Lunar New Year-themed Primary Schools Art Competition (PSAC); the Student Community Partnership, who provided volunteers from both of Bath’s universities and the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme.
The MEAA can only continue to run this event free of charge to the public with the kind support of individuals, businesses, organisations and volunteers. This educational and entertaining event is funded mainly by donations.
Please donate to keep the Lunar New Year Extravaganza alive!!
