Karma (re-birth) Synopsis

Amanda is a 16 year old teenage girl. She lives with her mother Julia in a large house in Philadelphia. Julia has been separated from Ted her husband for two months.  Ted is a good father and sees Amanda every weekend. Unbeknown to them, when Amanda was born, her body was inhabited by the re-incarnated tormented spirit of Jane Kaminski a 16 year old piano prodigy who was abducted and brutally murdered 16 years ago by a psychopath called Greg.

A few weeks before Amanda’s 16th birthday she inexplicably asks her parents if she can start music lessons and receives a present of a piano from her parents on her birthday.  She starts to have recurring horrific nightmares which always begin at 1 am.  She sees a man threatening her with a knife. She wakes up screaming fending off this man in her dream.  Her mother is woken up by the screams.  Julia tries to console Amanda. The nightmares get worse and continue for the rest of the week during which Julia finds it impossible to console Amanda. At Amanda’s prompting, Julia asks Ted to come back and live with them.

The nightmares are suddenly replaced by nightly sleepwalking episodes that start at 1 am, during which Amanda, ends up in the study. Julia and Ted watch as she sits at the piano in a trance playing a Chopin Sonata like a concert pianist.  They are amazed because Amanda has only had two music lessons. Amanda is taken to see Dr. Lawrence who specialises in paranormal psychology.  Under hypnosis Amanda reveals that she is Jane.

At same time, the serial killer Greg abducts two students and murders them inside the coal cellars of an abandoned church. Simultaneously a police investigation headed by two detectives is trying to find the serial killer who is responsible for kidnapping 10 talented music students. The police receive two clues. They recover a violin belonging to one of Greg’s victim’s when he failed to sell it to a pawn broker.  It is covered in coal dust. They recover a wallet belonging to one of Greg’s victims. It was found lying near the coal cellar hatch covers outside an old empty redundant warehouse. They match the coal cellar clues up.

Under hypnosis, Amanda shows Dr. Lawrence where Jane was imprisoned. Fearing to send the police on a wild goose chase Dr. Lawrence with Ted and Julia, decide to break into the locked church and find the coal cellars, but they are interrupted by Greg who brandishes a gun and is going to kill them. The detectives arrive on time and arrest Greg.  The story ends happily. The tormented spirit of Jane is now at rest. Amanda’s nightmares and sleep walking episodes are over. She has brought her parents back together. They have reconciled their marriage.

What We Need & What You Get

Karma is an animated full feature movie produced using the modelling technique that came from computer games. For this we are using the production process developed by Moviestorm our modelling partners. We need a larger hard drive and better post editing / sound microphone equipment to record actors’ voices dubbed to the animated characters in the script. We also need to employ actors for the voice over dialogue, which is costly. That is why our video excerpt has no dialogue as yet, but will have when the movie is finished.  We also need money for marketing the film which includes setting up a website to advertise the movie.

You will recieve the REWARDS opposite above £25 + donation.

1st and 2nd Production Assistants, Assitant Director, Associate Producer, Executive Producer. and Co-Producer level credits on the video.

We need £750 - to finish the movie. For those who are not familiar with film budgets, this amount is actually very little.  So if you can help us we would be grateful and we thank you for sponsoring us. Your name will appear on our video which we hope to sell throughout the world.

Our dream is sell this movie on Amazon and any other Internet DVD film sales site. We would like to get it into the theatres, but for that, you would need a large marketing, advertising campaign that would cost perhaps £125.000 upwards and that we can’t afford. We have set our sights on getting it into the animation film festivals with the view that distributers would be interested. If not we will sell it on Amazon etc.

As the producer, I’ve put every last ounce of my credit on the line for this film and really do need your support to keep going.

Why Support This Film

By supporting this film and becoming a sponsor you are becoming part of the film team and a co-producer. Crowd funding is a brilliant method based on the collective spirit of supporting the film industry and any amount, no matter how small, will help enormously, but if you can afford a large amount then this will be even better to help us get the movie produced and we would be grateful to all who support us.
