FALLING

For love to exist you have to believe.  

Story: Kate arrives at her lovers flat in a state of shock. She has just left her husband. Swept up in the euphoria of the moment, the couple passionately make love, but as Kate faces the enormity of what she has done, she begins to doubt her decision. How can she believe in love now?  Fear and grief threaten to overwhelm her, until a moment of transcendence gives her hope.  

Tone: Falling will be a very natural and 'real' feeling film, startling in it's rawness and emotional power.

Director Gabrielle Russell says: Falling is about the breakdown of reality that can happen when we face big decisions that will change the course of our lives. Such experiences can be overwhelming and very frightening. In her crisis, Kate feels that her very soul is at stake. I want this film to communicate the intensity of such moments and offer hope that even when everything seems to be broken, all we really need is to believe.

I want this film to inspire belief in the possibility of profound connections in life, and to encourage people to live bravely and passionately, from the heart. 

What we need the money for:  We have an amazing team of people who are coming together to make this film, and who are giving up their time for free, but without a little bit of funding we won’t be able to get our project made. The money we need will cover the basic equipment costs and will let us hire the camera, lights and basic set props that we will need to achive the right look. Every donation that is made will go directly into covering these basic expenses and we really appreciate anything that you can give.

Actress Emma Croft is an experienced actress with a courageous and delicate sensibility capable of searing performances. We are really privileged to be working with an actress of her calibre.

Cinematographer Annika Summerson is a graduate of the National Film and Television School and her work has already won a BAFTA. You can see more of her work on her website.  

Composer Daniel Lea works in collaboration with professional musicians to create beautiful orchestral scores under the pseudonym C.L.McCarthy. Samples of their work can be heard in these links.
