The Dance to Vegas project was set up to help fundraise an all female group of 7 talented dancers called MYSELF trip to this year’s Ihiphopdance championship in Las Vegas. MYSELF will be the only female crew representing the UK. Through the Dance to Vegas project MYSELF aim to promote the UK’s vibrant dance talent and raise the aspiration of several young dancers in the UK who have persistently tried to showcase the UK’s female dance talent. More so they hope to they can help to prove to the youth of London that with hard work, determination and a positive attitude you can achieve your dreams whatever they maybe.
MYSELF are an all female Hip Hop Dance group made up of strong female dancers from all over London.
MYSELF was formed in May 2008
Myself inspires and empowers women in and out of dance to love themselves and what they do.
It creates an awarness and platform of strong female dancers, leaders and innovators.
Myself also inspires young women who want to become dancers or create their own group, that with practice commitment and belief anything is possible.
We promote positive women in Hip Hop with the aim to influence and inspire others. Named MYSELF because we believe in always being yourself without trying to emulate others. The group, led by Choreographer Kloe Dean train every day of the week in any place we can get across East, West, North and South London. We train in Popping, Locking, New style and Break Dancing to name a few. We have performed at numerous venues such as Stratford Circus, Fairfield Halls, The Royal Festival hall for an Event called ‘Bsupreme’, appeared on Sky1's Got to Dance, and were part of Saddlers Wells ‘Breakin Convention’ Tour at the end of 2010.
On Saturday 5th June 2011, MYSELF competed in the qualifying rounds at the idance UK Hip Hop Championships in Thorpe Park, judged by world famous dancers such as Shabba-Doo, one of the original members of the Lockers and the character Ozone from the eighties film ‘Breakin’. We gained a place in the finals on Sunday 6th from which MYSELF won third place and now qualify to represent the UK at the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas at the end of July. This is a huge achievement for 8 hardworking girls from London and we are the only all female group that have been chosen to represent the UK.
Money raised will go towards paying flight and accommodation cost for MYSELF crew of 7 girls in Las Vegas. No matter how small you pledge we are more than grateful, it all goes a long way to supporting our dream and will inspire other young dancers to take a positive step forward to realizing their own unique dreams!
“Any donations will be hugely appreciated, as we really don’t want the journey to end here”
