Why do people buy vouchers?

Projects listed on Sponsume need to offer attractive rewards in order to reach their funding target and become reality.

So whatever the project, backers get rewards in return for their support.

Of course backers also have the satisfaction of turning the project they support into reality - as proceeds from the sale of the vouchers help fund the project.

How does the funding work?

Each project comes with a funding target and a funding deadline.

By buying vouchers, you contribute to funding the project. At the end of the listing the project gets the amounts raised, whether the target is reached or not ('Keep it All').

What do I get for my voucher?

Each project brings its own unique rewards. And vouchers often act like pre-orders for the product that will come out of the project when it goes live.

For some projects your voucher might offer an attractive discount on the proposed final product. For others it might be a gift, or exclusive VIP treatment, drinks with the team behind the project, the right to be an extra in the film etc.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes, the username of the backer is the only data that is publicly displayed on the site. Choose a generic username or change your username to something generic in order to donate anonymously.

Does Sponsume offer investments?

Backing a project is not investing.

Sponsume only offers a platform for retail vouchers. Sponsume does NOT offer any equity, royalties, loans or income-sharing scheme.

Project owners always retain 100% ownership and control of their project.

Will I be charged for backing a project?

No.

Do I have to login to PayPal to contribute to a campaign?

No. If a campaign is collecting contributions through PayPal you can pay via credit card, on PayPal, without paying from a PayPal account.

However, if you enter an email address or credit card number that PayPal recognizes it may ask you to log in for security purposes. You will still be able to contribute using your credit card or bank account. 

Can projects be shared on other sites and social networks?

Yes of course! That’s actually a great way of helping the project you like. You may use the sharing widgets on each page to share the project of your choice with your friends, family and colleagues.

Is there any risk?

While Sponsume makes every effort to ensure that project owners honour their commitments, Sponsume is a platform and project owners are fully responsible for delivering the promised rewards.

Project owners who fail to fulfill their obligations expose themselves to damages to their reputation and credit rating, fines, and may face legal action.
